Dear Summer Scientists,

The Summer Scientist Week is a celebratory experience that aims to show children that science can be fun and to inspire the next generation of scientists.

Unfortunately, for the first time in 10 years, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Summer Scientist Week due to concerns around the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope you understand that this is not a decision we have taken lightly, but the safety of our visitors and everyone involved in making the event happen is our most important consideration.

Please note that:

• We book on a simple first-come first served principle which we feel is the fairest all around.
• We have 2 sessions running each day of the event. The first session takes place between 9:30 and 12:30 and the second session between 13:30 and 16:30. When booking your place for the day, please make sure that you are available for both sessions as you will not have the option to select individual sessions.
• Group bookings cannot be made via our Eventbrite page. However, if you are part of a group we will try to book you in the same session. To do this, each member of the group will have to book onto the day first and then email summerscientist@lincoln.ac.uk once the bookings have gone through.

The Summer Scientist Week contributes to research conducted on behalf of the University of Lincoln and has received a favourable ethical opinion by a University Research Ethics Committee (2019-Aug-0722) in accordance with the Guidelines for research recruitment materials.

We are very pleased to announce that the event is now fully booked.

We operate a Waiting List for each session (like our bookings it is based on first come, first served basis).

If you email summerscientist@lincoln.ac.uk now we will add your names to the Waiting List. If someone cancels their space(s) we will let you know by email/phone that the space is now available and check to see whether you can still make it.
